Movie and Skating

(Tyler & 3 girls from his class)

Tyler is in a "team" at school which means that the same class stays together for 4th, 5th and 6th grade and they have the same 3 teachers. Your main teacher changes each year and then you have the other 2 for different subjects. I LOVE IT!!! It has been the best thing for him as he needed to "come out of his shell" at school. All 3 teachers are GREAT but just to let you know how GREAT the one he has this year posted on her website when she was taking her 2 girls to see Marley and Me and Ice Skating and invited the class to met them there. How many teachers would actually do this on THEIR break!!! She also does a camp out in the spring at her house as she has land. Tyler had a ton of fun at both and I thought they movie was GREAT and had to try really hard not to do the loud crying at the end.

48 in a 35

Tonight as we (OK..I) was driving to the pool for Nicholas Swim Taco Party I got pulled over. I honest to gosh thought I was getting pulled over one of my brake lights is not working..I was WRONG!!! He walks up to the car and I rolled down my window and he said " is there a reason you were going 48 in a 35" ....I HONESTLY said "No, I had no idea I was". He then ask "where are you going"..I said " to the pool for a swim party for my son" he said "Are you running late"..I said "No". He took my license and then ask for Hanks..which I can not figure out WHY. I said I was going to ask but when he came back and said I am just going to give you a warning I decided I really was not going to press my luck.
The FUNNY part of this story is TYLER (god love him) said "well NOW I will have something to talk about at school tomorrow"...then he said "he had his finger on his pepper spray the WHOLE time MOM" and "well, I guess you do not have to go to the Clink"...So I am sure everyone at school will know I got pulled over and I did not go to the clink:)

What have I been doing ALL Week?

Snickerdoodles
PeanutButter Tarts
No Bakes Cookies
Buckeyes
Sugar Cookies
Butter Cookie (Santa and Star Cutouts)
Chocolate in Powdered Sugar
Chocolate Chip
Reeses Chip Cookies
SnowBalls with Hershey Kisses in the middle
Peppermint Bark
Butterscotch squares

Cinnamon Candy (my favorite)
Rolo Candy Turtles
and 24 Loaves of Brown Bread (this year I actually made it in the cans instead of the loaf pans)

Tonight I made up cookie bags/plates/containers and am shocked at how FEW we have left. I know I will be making more Brown Bread as I am going to take it to my parents neighbors as this is what my mom did each year. I know I will make more of the PB tarts and Chocolate Chip and I still have some Snickerdoodle Dough in the fridge as when I made it I messed up (I know..gasp) and instead of doubling it I 4 times the crisco so I put 1/2 the dough in the fridge as I was OVER rolling balls....lol

WHY, do I do this....it makes me feel closer to my mom as she did this every year and I know she is smiling down at me for keeping up her tradition!!!

I still have all the ingridents to make Puppy Chow and Chex Mix so this weekend I will be doing that!
Tomorrow is the staff lunch at school that I am in charge of with another mom (hi Sam:) and Friday night I am having 25 (yes I am NUTS) high school boys here for a pasta dinner for swim. Soooo guess what I will be doing on Friday..making Spaghetti and Meatballs, Pasta Salad, Veggie trays and Rice Krispie Treats!!
Have I wrapped a gift yet..that would be a NO!!!
If anyone wants to come wrap my gift I will feed you cookies:)

Mom...can they please come over...

Nicholas is on the high school swim team and this weekend was the girls first meet as they start 2 weeks ahead of the boys. The boys team went to "cheer" them on and then to dinner and then I get the text "if someone can spend the night" ..My first responce was NO as Tyler had someone the night before and I sooo wanted a sleep in morning which NEVER happens. I ended up going to up to Greenwood with Denise so when I came back I found there were 4 other boys spending the night..So at 11 oclock at night I made a breakfast casserole and got out 2 butter braids. One of the boys had to leave at 845 AM so when I went down to wake him up this is how they were sleeping. I had to laugh (and get my camera). They are a GREAT group of boys and we are soo looking forward to Tuesday as it is the FIRST high school swim meet for them. Go Frogs!!!

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road

Since nothing is going on here and I got this today and thought it was FUNNY, I thought I would post this:)

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change!
The chicken wanted change!
JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
SARAH PALIN: Because, praise Jesus, I was gonna shoot his sorry liberal ass for blocking my view of Russia !
HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.
GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here. DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?
COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.
BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of crossing?
AL GORE: I invented the chicken.
JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let20the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.
AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.
DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.
OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.
NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmers Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.
JERRY FALWELL
: Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth? That's why they call it the other side. Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay, too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like the other side. That chicken should not be crossing the road. It's as plain and as simple as that.
GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.
BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.
ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.
BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash.
ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

High School Swim Halloween Party

Nicholas went to the High School Swim Team Halloween party last weekend and here is a picture I "borrowed" from someone elses blog:)
He is the Banana. FUNNY thing is he wanted to be a Hooters Girl so I bought a Hooters uniform on line and the shorts were a little obscene on a boy so he THEN decided he would go with the boys team Theme of super heros and I ordered him the black spiderman..well he decided he really did not like it but left the house with it and when they went to pick up one of the Ninja girls she said I have a Banana costume. Guess what is going on Ebay next year..A spiderman Adult costume and he already knows NOT to ask me to buy him another one costume again. Can I tell you how much easier it was when he was 3 and was happy with Thomas the Train:)

McCain's Speech

I just watched John McCain's concession speech and I have to say it made me CRY. I personally like him and I think his speech was with a lot of DIGNITY!! I even have more respect for him then I did! I do agree with what he said..I did not vote for Obama but I will support him when he is the President. I just hope he follows through with what he has people believing.

The DECK

Hank built a Deck on the otherside of the pool as it is was slope with ugly groundcover. He still needs to build arbor type roof on the 3 back post. I LOVE IT and it is GREAT to have the extra space in the back!!

Halloween

Halloween Party

AQUAMAN..

This family came Trick or Treating..she is 11 weeks pregnant. I have no idea who they were..just thought they looked GREAT!!

Cupcakes and Witch Hat cookies

Appetizers

Halloween Decorations

I did not take any pictures of my kids on Halloween...Tyler went to a Friends house to go with a group of kids from school Trick or Treating and we went over later for a party. It was a TON of fun and the kids had a BLAST. A couple of the kids kept saying that we needed to "try" to scare them...Well, we did as we all got in the backyard and hid in different places and came out at different times. They all "ACTED" like they hated that we did it but they LOVED IT!!!

Nicholas went with some kids from school but did not actually trick or treat. A few swim kids came over as they "heard" we had Full Size SNICKERS:) and Ryne won the prize in my book for his costume..He was AquaMan and he ACTUALLY WORE IT TO SCHOOL!!!

Next is a few pictures of my cupcakes I made for a party we had on Saturday night and some of the food I made..I LOVE to host partys and would love to have a business of making appitizers as I think it is so FUN!!!

Fall Festival..Tyler and his "friends"

I have been BUSY lately and have not been taking or posting pictures..Karen keeps asking to see a picture of Tyler and his TABLE of GIRLS from the Fall Festival! Hers is the cute on in the orange hat. The HATS were a HUGE hit that night..we did a Hat Walk (think cake walk but you won a hat instead:)

The Fall Festival is OVER!!!

The Fall Festival is OVER!!! WOoooHOoooo!!!
It was a huge sucess. I am TIRED and my feet are killing me. I left the house at 8:15 in the morning as I had to go to the Gyno for my annual (more info then you needed to know:) was at school by 9:15 and got home at 10 last night. We had a lot of people there. We were about PERFECT on food as we had 3 small tubes chili left and 2 1/2 packs of hot dogs. The unopened nacho cheese we stored till March for the talent show and the leftover soda we sold for $4 a case and it was ALL gone. The bake sale was GREAT!!! One grandfather made a turtle cheesecake from SCRATCH and we sold it for $3 a slice and it was gone FAST. We had three 6 foot tables PACKED of items that looked and smelled WONDERFUL:)
The hat walk was a HUGE hit as they kids LOVED the shaggy hats we had. Hank worked the Obsicle coarse and he said he knows 500 kids did it as most went 2 at a time as it was 2 coarses that they could race on. FUN!!!! We use a carnival company that brings the games and prices so we just have to have the workers and we do the food. The hat walk was our game as we added it a few years ago but this years hats were the best. I brought my camera and took 2 pictures of Tyler at a table with 5 girls but my battery was about dead so that was all I took. He hung around with HER daughter (2 from right in pic:) the whole night so I am thinking we need to start planning the wedding!!! I had 2 friends that do not have kids there come help..Bev helped mark bake good items during the day and Denise came to run a game that was a add-on that night but I had a parent say she want to do something so she did it instead.
Tyler said it was the BEST fall festival yet so I am happy as this is the reason I do this every year. I have 1 more to head up as Ty will be a 6th grader next year:(

Fall Festival

Tonight is the Fall Festival that I have headed up at my sons school. Can I just TELL you how happy I will be when tonight it over. I feel this way every year (this is my 4th year). We have around 18/20 game booths, a chili/hot dog dinner and a bake sale. As of RIGHT now I have ALL my volunteers for everything and 1 extra BUT that could ALL change today and tonight with parents forgetting or something coming up. My worry now is that my 18 people will forget to bring in their chili and my 145 people will forget to bring in there bake sale items.
Tyler has counted down the days for this for a few weeks now as he LOVES it AND this is why I do this every year. I have my camera so HOPEFULLY I will remember to take a few pictures:)

*On a side one of my 1st grade kids that I work with (who is ADORABLE) said to be yesterday in the middle of a lesson, "It is so nice to have you Mrs. Wang, It is so nice to have you" he had the most serious look on his face and was so sincere and I just looked at him and laughed.."he said "I am not joking Mrs. Wang" I said I am SO happy to have the 3 of you to work with too". They had went on a field trip the day before so I did not work with them and he MISSED me!!!
Can I just tell you how much I love my job (most days). It is so nice to be loved and 1st graders are HAPPY to see you (my 3rd graders I work with are a different story:)
I had another one tell me that Meatology is the study of meat...why he told me this I have NO idea but it was important at the time...lol

Maxie

I do not think I talk about my dog a lot on here so I decided since Tyler took a BUNCH of pictures of her this week I would do a post on her. We got Maxie from the pound around 6 years ago..She was around 6 to 8 months when we got her..I know she looks a lot older then that. I have to say I am not a "dog person" BUT she is the BEST dog ever. She LOVES her crate and her pillow. We leave it open and she goes in and out, ok in more then out as she is not a ball of energy. She LOVES Hank and when he calls we put the phone up to her ear and on her back she goes. She looks like a seal as her BUTT is much bigger then her head. She does not know a stranger..just pet her and she is your friend!! She does not run away..actually she does not run period..she is more of a waddler..I think she is me in a dog actually:)

Tyler...

A few days ago I heard what sounded like water running but a different sound then I usually hear. A little bit later I noticed my family room ceiling. I have no idea what exactly TYLER did in his bathroom. All I have heard is he filled his sink up (and I am thinking left the water ON) and put his face in the sink to "wake" himself up. This is what I saw...
If any of you "know" us well, it seems to be when Hank is gone something ALWAYS happens and a lot of time it involves water. Yes, we will be getting the ceiling repainted soon.

I ask Tyler that night, what he thought his dad would say to him when he saw it..his responce was "I am sure dad would say not to be so hard on me"..lol.

Fall

Sunday as I was decorating the back yard with fall decorations Tyler and his friend were swimming. Our weather got a little cooler and now it is hot again. I do have to say I am ready for fall but not winter as I HATE COLD and SNOW.
Hank built a deck on the other side of the pool for more chair space:) It will come in handy in the summer. We..ok HE still needs to do the side railings and we ..ok HE is doing a tall back.

Almost 2 weeks later

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I got my tattoo and I LOVE it!!! This weekend it was peeling and not real pretty but all the dryed dead skin came off and it looks GREAT. The colors are bright and it has so much meaning to me!!! I look at it and it makes me smile as it makes me think of my parents. I can not tell you how much I miss them..
I know a lot of people do not get it and can not figure out why I did this....to them I say it is none of your BUSINESS!!! But it makes me happy and that is what matters:)

My Necklace

I saw this necklace (Name Charm Necklace) on another blog and I LOVED it so I ordered me one...
To ME

Love, ME

You should check out her site (SuzanneMeyers.com) as you get a choice of chains, beads and designs on your charms:)
I got Abalone and Jade as my beads and Nicholas' charm is feathered and Tyler's is hammered.
